Morara Kebaso defends Uhuru amid ODM leaders’ criticism
Political activist Morara Kebaso has defended the fourth President Uhuru Kenyatta, dismissing complaints by ODM officials about alleged attempts to influence the party. He said some politicians were directing their anger at the wrong target instead of understanding the broader political context.
“I heard Junet Mohammed and John Mbadi yesterday complaining that Uhuru Kenyatta has been meeting with some ODM officials to buy the party plus the community for 1 billion. And I sat back wondering, these men are complaining about Uhuru buying a political party, yet Uhuru shamelessly owns a whole community plus its kingpin. Mnunuzi mko na yeye hapo,” Kebaso said.

He went on to highlight what he described as a misunderstanding of political influence in Kenya. He pointed to the wider reach of Uhuru’s political involvement.
“You are angry at the bank that will clear the cheque instead of the person who is writing the cheque. Are you really that dumb? Mbadi? When you look around the cabinet where you sit, don’t you see Uhuru there? Ama bado huoni?” he added

Kebaso also referenced political ownership beyond individual parties, urging critics to observe existing structures, emphasising his point that political influence is widespread and not limited to one party.
“If you want to know how many parties Uhuru owns, just go and check the title deed of the house where one of the Luhya western political parties is headquartered here in Nairobi. Look at the title deed, you will know the owner,” he said

He concluded by asserting that ordinary citizens are often the ones misled in Kenyan politics, suggesting that citizens are sometimes too focused on perceived party manoeuvres rather than understanding the broader political landscape.
“I told you the only fool in Kenyan politics ni mwananchi. Wanasiasa wako kadi,” Kebaso said,
