Maraga presidential bid receives boost after endorsement from clan

Retired Chief Justice David Maraga received a major political boost for his presidential ambitions after his Bonyamatuta clan endorsed and supported his presidential race in the 2027 elections.
The more than 250 clansmen comprising of opinion leaders who met at Ibara Viongozi Kebirigo Pastoral Centre gave Maraga a thumbs-up and blessing to go ahead and contest for the seat of presidency in the general elections. Maraga had invited his clansmen so that he can consult them and seek their blessings and support for the top seat before going out to seek support from the rest of Kenyans.
The leaders who were led by former councillor Nelson Onyancha Onduko recommended Maraga for seeing it wise and fit to seek the clan’s opinion and advice over his presidential ambition before embarking on the mission.
They unanimously threw their support behind his candidature and vowed to rally the entire Gusii community behind him.
“As leaders from his Bonyamatuta clan, he has sought our views and we have given him a go-ahead of his plans of seeking for the top seat in the country,” Onduko told journalists, noting that Maraga has served Kenyans very well during his tenure in the judiciary, and he can equally do the same and better if he is elected the sixth president of the republic of Kenya.
Speaker after speaker during the meeting decorated Maraga’s good performance at the judiciary, which gives him a good head start for his agenda for the seat of presidency.
Maraga’s leading lights who were led by advocates Dennis Matara Abincha and Joseph Ombasa Kiangoi, termed Maraga as the right and most qualified person who can address the political and economic crisis in Kenya if elected as president.
Maraga has also denied and dismissed rumours doing rounds in social media that he was President William Ruto’s project in the presidential race.
