Justin Muturi: Ruto is a pathological liar who lies without blinking
Former Attorney General Justin Muturi has launched an attack against President William Ruto amid the heightened political temperatures in the country heading into the 2027 general election.
Speaking on Kameme FM on Monday, September 15, 2025, the ousted AG cautioned Kenyans against re-electing Ruto back in office in the next general election, describing the Head of State as a master of lies.
Muturi’s remarks come at a time when President William Ruto has intensified his re-election bid by making amends with public servants such as teachers and trying to woo regions perceived as the opposition’s strongholds.
”President William Ruto is a pathological liar. He looks you straight in the eye and lies without hesitation. I’ve never encountered anyone like him,” Muturi said on Monday.
The former Public Service Cabinet Secretary fell out with President Ruto at a time when abduction cases in the country were rampant at the beginning of the year.
Muturi opened Pandora’s box in a damning revelation of how his son, Leslie Muturi, was allegedly abducted and released by the National Intelligence Service (NIS) officers following an order by President William Ruto in 2024.

Ruto-Muturi fallout
Muturi gave a detailed account of how his son was kidnapped on June 22, 2024, by armed hooded men along Dennis Pritt Road when Leslie was in the company of Embakasi West MP Mark Mwenje and Marangu Imanyara at Alfajiri Lounge. Ever since, Justin Muturi has been campaigning against Ruto’s re-election ambitions by joining the opposition.
Alongside former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka and former Defence Cabinet Secretary, have joined forces in trying to block the incumbent from serving his second term in 2027.
However, Ruto has embarked on strengthening his bid by bringing public servants closer to his camp. On Saturday, September 13, 2025, Ruto witnessed the signing of a landmark Memorandum of Understanding between the Affordable Housing Board and teachers’ unions at State House, Nairobi.
According to Ruto, the agreement guarantees that 20 per cent of all Affordable Housing units will be allocated to teachers, a step towards ensuring that those who dedicate their lives to shaping our nation’s future have access to decent homes.
