Jubilee Party warns govt against shifting blame to Uhuru over economic failures
The Jubilee Party has issued a stern warning to the government, accusing the State of launching relentless attacks on the retired President, Uhuru Kenyatta.
In a Press Release on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, the Party went on to call out the government for what they said was involving the retired president’s family in matters affecting the current state of the economy.
“Jubilee Party today addresses the nation with deep concern over the escalating economic hardship, governance failures, and dangerous political realities currently confronting our country,” read the statement in part
The party went on to criticise the government, accusing it of failing to properly address the harsh economic concerns of Kenyans, instead resorting to attacking Uhuru.
“Let us be absolutely blunt, this regime has become dangerously obsessed with President Uhuru Kenyatta. Instead of governing, instead of fixing the collapsing economy, instead of addressing the pain Kenyans are going through, they have chosen to spend their time launching relentless attacks on a retired President and even dragging his family into their political theatrics,” the Party explained.
Jubilee Party has also accused the government of being insecure with its governance, by what they say is deflecting from its mandate
“This is not leadership; it is insecurity, it is deflection, and it is a clear admission that they have no answers. President Uhuru served his term, upheld the Constitution, and handed over power peacefully to William Ruto in a lawful and democratic transition,” the Party explained.

A dignified tenure
In addition, the Party went on to defend Uhuru’s tenure as one marked by a dignified exit from office, and that the current regime should emulate him instead of hiding behind his name whenever various gaps are witnessed in the current government.
“He exited office with dignity. The current leadership must now find a way to govern with the same focus instead of hiding behind his name every time their failures are exposed. Leave Prsident Uhuru and his family out of your incompetence, face Kenyans and account for your record,” the Party explained.
“We are equally alarmed, and we will not stay silent about the growing, deliberate targeting of one community by senior government officials, including Cabinet Secretaries and figures within the ruling party,” Jubilee said.
The Party went on to maintain that it will not be lectured about historical injustices by a regime that is actively perpetuating injustice in the present.
“Before you drag this country fifty years into the past, stand before Kenyans and answer for the blood on the streets today.Answer for the lives lost during protests. Answer for a nation where insecurity is spreading while the state looks the other way. These are not abstract debates; they are the lived reality of Kenyans under your watch,” the party stated.
