The Jubilee Party on Monday, May 18, 2026, held a high-level delegates’ meeting in Kiambu County as the party intensified efforts to strengthen its grassroots support and reorganise ahead of the 2027 general election.

Speaking during the event on Monday, 18 May 2026, the Jubilee deputy party leader, Fred Matiang’i, in a short statement, noted that the meeting was prepared in a week and that the high-level meeting for the party delegates’ meeting was part of the party’s efforts to build grassroots support and reorganise in preparation for the general election of 2027.

In the absence of the party leader, Uhuru Kenyatta, Matiang’i has further noted that in consultation with the party leader, the party will hold another similar meeting in a week to announce the deliberations that were meant to be done in the meeting.

“We announced this meeting last week on Friday, and I want to thank our chairperson in Kiambu for the work he has done in preparing the event. I would like, after this meeting, to have a brief meeting with all the aspirants. In consultation with the party leader, we have agreed that we shall have another meeting of this kind here next week to announce the deliberations we were to announce today,” Matiang’i said.

The meeting was attended by party officials and branch leaders, youth representatives, and women officials and delegates from various parts of the county. The event is aimed at strengthening Jubilee’s political muscle in the country, mobilising the grassroots of the party, and strengthening unity.

The delegates’ meeting has been presided over by the party’s deputy party leader and presidential candidate, Fred Matiang’i, and his counterpart, Jeremiah Kioni, among other national leaders of the party.

The Jubilee leader’s forum indicates that the party has not relented on its efforts to reach out to supporters at the grassroots level in the wake of political changes and alignments following the 2022 General Election.

The Jubilee party, which is led by the fourth president, Uhuru Kenyatta, has been seen to take a keen interest in young people and women in leadership and decision-making within the party as a way of improving Jubilee’s future political prospects, which would be to empower the youth.

The Kiambu delegates’ meeting is part of the ongoing national mobilisation exercise by the party to solidify support in the important areas ahead of future political engagements.
