Gachagua reveals details of his meeting with Kisii MCAs

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, hosted a section of the elected and nominated members of the Kisii County Assembly at his Wamunyoro residence in Nyeri County.

Taking to his official X account, the second deputy president revealed that he hosted the people’s grassroots representatives from Kisii County adding that their discussion revolved around matters on the economy, social and political future of the country.

Gachagua in the statement urged the Kenya Kwanza regime to listen to Kenyans noting that they deserve value for their taxes.

“Today, at my Wamunyoro Residence, the people’s grassroots representatives from Kisii County called on me. Kenya’s hope and dream of the future as envisioned by our forefathers must be re-gathered and re-focused in a truthful voice of the common mwananchi.

“The elected and nominated members of the County Assembly of Kisii, I have heard you, and I have heard the voice of the great people of Kisii County on matters of economy, social, and political future. Kenyans deserve to be listened to and deserve value for their taxes, “Gachagua revealed.

Leaders present included Hon. Michael Motume (Masige East Ward), Hon. Christopher Onsaga (Nyamasibi Ward), Hon. Naftal Onkoba ( Nyacheki Ward), Hon. Nyagaka Onchong’a (Sensi Ward), Hon. Brendah Kiteya (Nominated), Hon. Ruth Nyagechang’a (Nominated), Hon. Karen Magara (Nominated).

Gachagua today’s meetings

Apart from the MCAs from Kisii, Gachagua also hosted members of the Murang’a County Assembly disclosing that their discussion centred around matters on the welfare of Murang’a residents and identifying key challenges that affect them.

“The voice of the people is at the grassroots. Our Constitution 2010 remains a game-changer in the creation and empowerment of the MCAs, who at all times are the voice of the people.  

“In this call, I engaged at my Wamunyoro Residence, the incredible MCAs from Murang’a County. They have shared with me what the people of Murang’a County are saying in the villages we all belong to. This forward-thinking mindset is essential as we aim to create sustainable solutions that will benefit generations to come,” he revealed.
