Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has hit back at Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro following his public apology to Kenyans over missing the parliamentary vote on the Finance Bill 2026, accusing him of drifting into opposition-style politics associated with Kalonzo Musyoka.

In a statement on Saturday, June 27, 2026, Sudi openly questioned Nyoro’s recent political messaging, suggesting the former Budget Committee chairperson had abandoned the political direction that once defined him.

“My brother Ndindi Nyoro, what are you even saying, buana? I can see you’ve followed yule mtu wa 50 years in government, Kalonzo, to become a watermelon and a fence-sitter,” Sudi stated.

Sudi questions Nyoro’s political direction

The outspoken lawmaker went further to mock Nyoro’s latest remarks, ending his statement with the now viral phrase “Elucidate the crinkum crankum and the higi haga,” words that immediately sparked reactions across social media as political supporters interpreted the message as a direct challenge to Nyoro’s shifting stance.

Sudi’s remarks come barely hours after Nyoro publicly apologised for failing to participate in one of Parliament’s most consequential votes this year.

Nyoro apologises over Finance Bill absence

Speaking during a press briefing at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre, Nyoro admitted that his absence during the Finance Bill debate had disappointed many Kenyans.

“I want to take this opportunity to apologise to Kenyans for the disappointment I caused them last week during the Finance Bill vote. It is not the way I do things; nilikosea hapo,” Nyoro said.

The MP explained he had travelled outside the country for engagements that could not be postponed but admitted public criticism was justified.

Finance Bill vote sparks political heat

The Finance Bill 2026 was eventually passed after 122 MPs voted in support while 40 opposed the tax proposals, with Nyoro’s absence attracting sharp criticism given his reputation as one of Parliament’s strongest voices on economic matters.

The exchange now adds fresh intrigue to succession politics ahead of the 2027 Kenyan General Election, with internal tensions within President William Ruto’s camp increasingly playing out in public.
