Wanyama reacts to signing with Scottish side, Dunfermline

Former Harambee Stars skipper Victor Wanyama has commented on his singing with Scottish outfit, Dunfermline Athletic FC.
Taking to his X on Thursday, March 27, 2025, Wanyama reacted to an update on his transfer update, stating that he still possess the same hunger as he returns to Scotland.
“New Home, Same Hunger,” Wanyama posted.
The Scottish Championship club on Wednesday,March, 27, 2025 confirmed the arrival of the midfielder on a short-term contract that extends through the end of this season.
Deal Done
“DAFC are delighted to announce the signing of Kenyan international, Victor Wanyama, on a deal until the end of the season, subject to international clearance. The 33-year-old defensive midfielder has had a decorated career, playing for clubs such as Celtic, Southampton, Tottenham Hotspur and most recently, CF Montreal,” a statement of the signing read as posted on the club’s website.
Dunfermline also known as the Pars currently sit 9th in the Scottish championship standings, just two places above the relegation play-off spot.

The move marks his return to Scotland where he previously featured for the country’s giants, Celtic FC.
Celtic move
It was at Celtic that Wanyama announced himself to the world after moving from Belgian side, Germinal Beerschot FC in 2011 as a 20 year old.
He enjoyed a stellar campaign in the two years winning the Scottish Cup twice as well as playing in the Champions league with the Hoops.
The move also reunites him with his former coach Neil Lennon, who had taken over at the club just a few days before Wanyama’s arrival.

The midfielder had recently opened up that he was still looking for offers on the table before deciding what his next career step would be amid reports of him hanging his boots.
“I will still be playing football and actively looking at everything on offer. Staying in England is an option, but I am more inclined to experience a new environment, as I’ve played in England for a while,” Wanyama said in an interview with a local publication on Wednesday, February, 26, 2025.
Wanyama left Major League Soccer (MLS) CF Montreal of Canada in December 2024.
