Wahome’s team surges to KCB East Africa victory, during 12th leg

In the 12th leg of the KCB East Africa Golf Tour at Karen Country Club, the four-ball of Philip Wahome, Mike Njogu, Zack Koech and Steve Lokonyo emerged as the overall winners with a combined score of 119 points.
They outperformed their nearest rivals, Evelyn Otsuyala, Koki Muia, Epimach Maritim, and Cyllus Onyango, who finished with 110 points. The event attracted 240 golfers.
Wahome expressed satisfaction with their performance: “We had a formidable four-ball today. We knew the competition would be tough, but we came prepared to win. Our first and second nines were excellent, and we kept everyone in check, playing in the morning. We’ll continue working together as we prepare for the grand finale.”
Kyalo Nzioki impressed with 44 stableford points to claim the overall winner title after countback, narrowly beating Cyllus Onyango, who also scored 44 points, to win the man winner award.
Wairimu Maina took home the lady winner award with 40 stableford points, while Ryan Ndegwa emerged as the Junior category winner with 39 points after countback.
Peter Ndichu secured the staff winner award with 39 points, and Millicent Mello was the staff runner-up with 37 points.
Pettie Ndolo and Lesaan Shani won the longest drive awards in the ladies’ and men’s categories, respectively.
The tour, which has seen participation from over 1,500 golfers to date, will continue with its 13th leg at Nyanza Golf Club on August 17, 2024.
