Vihiga, Bunyore coaches lauds county gov’t for upgrading grounds

By , February 24, 2023

Vihiga Queens head coach Boniface Nyamu Nyamu together with his Bunyore Starlets counterpart Daniel Arunga have welcomed the move by Vihiga County government to upgrade the local playing grounds to act as the team’s home ground for league matches.

The tacticians said the move will help the local clubs cut on expenses of hiring playing grounds outside Vihiga County. They also said the home grounds will help fans turn-out in large numbers to support their teams hence giving them the 12th-man advantage.

They noted that Vihiga County had good playing grounds like Mumboha, Kaimosi, Hamisi and Kidundu which can serve the local teams if well upgraded.

They also noted that Vihiga Queens has been forced to hire Mumias Complex playing grounds for all their home matches while Vihiga Bullets hire Bukhungu Stadium for their home ties, something that makes the team spend a lot of money.
