Adios Harambee Stars! Victor Wanyama retires from international football
Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama has retired from international football, hence Harambee Stars.
In his retirement message, the immediate former Stars captain said it was a great honour playing for Kenya but it was his time to hand over the baton to the next generation.
“It has been an honour to represent my country and I think the time has come for me to pass the mantle to the young ones. I’ll always be the national team’s biggest supporter,” he wrote.
The national team sent a message of appreciation to the retiring player on their main social media page that read;
“Thank you for everything you have given to us over the last fifteen years. You represented Kenya with pride and passion and gave us plenty of moments to remember. Asante sana Victor Wanyama.”
