Twelve sign up for Ndalat Gaa weekend marathon in Kericho
Twelve athletes who are attached to the Lemotit Athletics Training camp in Kericho County are geared up for the Ndalat Gaa Marathon to be held this weekend.
The Marathon, also known as Isaiah Kiplagat Memorial Championship, is expected to attract athletes from several parts of the country.

Addressing journalists at the weekend, the camp’s coach Paul Kemei revealed that preparations for the event were in top gear, adding that it will bring together the crème-de-la crème of the country’s top runners.
Kemei said that the majority of the entrants, and especially those in the junior ranks, registered early enough for the championships.
“I want to say we are finalizing training as well as preparations ahead of this weekend’s event. I am confident my team will post impressive results”, Kemei asserted.
Among the twelve athletes in Lemotit’s roster include Joyline Chepkemoi, Diana Chepkemoi and Miriam Chemutai all who will compete in the six kilometer race.
Amongst the quartet, Joyline is touted as star in the making after posting impressive results lately in her specialty.
She is the winner of Agnes Tirop Memorial World Cross-Country Continental Tour in 5KM race besides being the reigning queen in the Athletics Kenya National Cross-Country championships that was held in January this year.
In June this year during the South Rift regional U20 trials held in Kericho County, Joyline clinched the honours over 3000 meters.
Kemei described Joyline as a promising budding athlete who has a bright future.
“She is willing to learn and at this rate, I expect her to conquer the world of athletics,” said Kemei of the Form One student at Kalyet Secondary School in the county.
