Shabana issues update on Ruto’s promise to buy them a new team bus

In a communication to the club on Thursday, December 4, 2025, the club notified its fan base that payments have already been settled and the club now awaits to have the modern bus within a period of two or three months.
This is after Ruto facilitated the procurement process, with newly imported chassis arriving in the country, paving the way for the final body-building work.

“Following a special request made to His Excellency the President to support the team in acquiring a decent and modern sports bus, His Excellency graciously accepted the request and facilitated the entire procurement process through East Africa Motors. At the time, no chassis meeting the specifications recommended by the president were immediately available,” part of Shabana’s statement read.
“We also wish to notify our supporters and stakeholders that all payments have been fully settled, in line with the commitment made by President William Ruto. A fully executed job card, order form, and payment agreement have been duly signed and confirmed,” it added.
The club has further expressed its gratitude to the president for the generous donation.
Ruto committed to gifting the team the brand-new, modern team bus back in August as Peter Okidi’s team prepared to kick off the FKF PL season.
In a statement shared by the team’s Secretary General Elizaphan Kerama on Friday, August 15, 2025, the club confirmed that Ruto had consented to the significant donation.
The club, while lauding the gesture from the president, said it is a demonstration of his faith in one of the clubs commanding a huge following in the country.

“On behalf of the entire Shabana family, our players, technical bench, management, and our millions of passionate fans, we extend our heartfelt THANK YOU to H.E. Dr. William Samoei Ruto, CGH, President of the Republic of Kenya, for graciously accepting to gift us a brand new modern team bus,” the club said.
