Police FC arrive in Tanzania for CECAFA Kagame Cup debut
Football Kenya Federation Premier League reigning champions, Kenya Police FC arrived in Tanzania on Sunday, August 31, 2025, ahead of their debut in the CECAFA Kagame Cup.
The Kenyan Premier League bigwigs will be using the regional tournament, scheduled from September 2 to 15, 2025, in Dar es Salaam. This year’s Kagame Cup, under the stewardship of Rwandan President Paul Kagame, will feature 12 elite teams and serve as a crucial pre-season build-up for the law enforcement teams ahead of their historic CAF Champions League debut later this year.
Police FC are placed in Group A of the tournament alongside Singida B.S, Garde-Cotes FC and Ethiopia Coffee FC. The team left the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on Sunday, August 31, 2025, in the presence of club Chairman Munga Nyale for Dar es Salaam.
Group stage fixtures
The opening day of action is on September 2, 2025.
Garde Cotes FC vs Kenya Police FC (1:00 pm, KMC Stadium)
KMC FC vs Milandee FC (4:00 pm, KMC Stadium)
APR FC vs Bumamuru FC (6:00 pm, Azam Complex)
Singida Black Stars vs Ethiopian Coffee SC (9:00 pm, Azam Complex)
On September 3, 2025, Kator FC will face Al Ahly SC Wad Madani at 1:00 pm, while Al Hilal FC clashes with M.C.C. FC at 4:00 pm.
The action continues on September 5, 2025, with Milandee FC meeting APR FC, Kenya Police FC locking horns with Singida Black Stars, Bumamuru FC squaring off against KMC FC, and Ethiopian Coffee SC battling Garde Cotes FC.
The group stage matches will conclude with fixtures on September 6, 8 and 10, 2025, including high-stakes encounters such as Ethiopian Coffee SC vs Kenya Police FC, Bumamuru FC vs Milandee FC, and Al Hilal FC vs Kator FC.
Knockout Stage Pathway
The knockout stage is scheduled to kick off on September 12, 2025. According to the tournament structure, the winner of Group B will face the winner of Group C (3:00 pm, Azam Complex).
The winner of Group A will meet the best loser (6:30 pm, Azam Complex). The losers of the semifinals will contest the third-place playoff on September 15, 2025, with the grand finale set for the same day at the Azam Complex to crown the Kagame Cup 2025 champions.
