Midfield lynchpin Patilah Omoto has made a return to Kariobangi Sharks, having initially left the club for Posta Rangers.

Sharks has confirmed the deft-footed enforcer’s arrival as William Muluya’s side continues its rebuilding phase for the 2025 season.

“Patilah Omoto returns. A pulse in midfield who brings balance and calm in chaos rejoins from Posta Rangers,” the club said while confirming the returnee.

Former Sharks man

Omoto was among several former Sharks mainstays who ditched the Kariobangi-based outfit for a novel challenge alongside Eric Juma, Ovella Ochieng, and Vincent Wasambo.

He returns to the Sharks fold after helping Rangers retain their KPL status following a playoff win over Naivas FC in June.

In what goes down as a return home, Omoto is set to reunite with several of his former teammates who helped the team attain top-flight football.

Sharks rebuilding

The midfielder adds to the team’s roster of new acquisitions.

Following a chastening season that saw the club finish four points above the drop zone, the former Shield Cup champions have embarked on a strengthening exercise, raiding KPL rivals, Sofapaka, for the signature of Davine Wayne Otieno.

In a statement on Sunday, July 20, Sharks confirmed Otieno as its first new arrival to the team.

“Wayne Dalvine Otieno is our first addition. Blessed with an impressive repertoire and signature flair, he joins from Sofapaka FC,” a statement from Sharks said.

The midfielder who hails from Mathare North, Otieno, who is largely deployed in the midfield role, proved a crucial cog in Ezekiel Akwana’s side, featuring prominently in the club’s late resurgence that saw them finish in the league top ten.

The club has additionally roped in goalkeeper Collins Omondi from Lucky Summer FC, while Jahson Wakachala earned promotion from the Kariobangi Sharks Juniors side to the team’s seniors.
