Ruaraka Sports Club are enjoying the form of their lives after posting a third consecutive win in the Nairobi Provincial Cricket Association (NPCA)-50 Over Championship on Sunday with a three wicket win over former Champions Stray Lions.

In the match played at Peponi School, the home team won the toss selecting to bat first in the opening innings posting a score total of 200 on the board. Vaibhav Naresh (52 runs off 106 balls) was their top scorer in the match with his contribution including four boundaries and one six. Captain Shem Ngoche (41 runs off 50 balls) was the second top scorer for the Lions in an innings which saw Ruaraka’s Shill Gill collecting three wickets on the crease.

After the break, the batsmen of Ruaraka did just enough to surpass the target after posting 204 runs for the loss of three wickets on the board. Yogesh Sawant (54 runs off 67 balls) was the main run-getter in the innings in an all through performance in the crease with a personal contribution including four boundaries. Gerald Mwendwa, Vraj Patel and Krishna Katukala all had three wickets haul in the match for Lions.

Elsewhere Obuya Academy continued their good streak after beating Nairobi Gymkhana at home by four wickets. The hosts who batted first in the opening innings were restricted to a score of only 146 on the board with star man Elijah Otieno (6 wickets off 39 runs) completely destroying the Gymkhana plot. Arun Yadav (75 runs off 67 balls) was Gymkhana’s top-scorer followed by Joseph Onyango (33 runs off 45 balls) even as the likes of Kavi Dosaja, Dominic Wesonga and Amish Amin leaving the pitch for ducks following the deadly deliveries by Obuya team. After the break, Obuya Academy posted 147 runs for the loss of six wickets with Collins Obuya (58 runs off 88 balls) being the top-scorer. Aarnav Patel for Gymkhana had three wicket haul in the innings inside 44 runs.
