FKF PL Week 26: Struggling Nzoia Sugar to face acid Gor Mahia test, Rangers aim to bounce back against Ingwe

By , April 10, 2024

After they were held to a goalless draw by Kakamega Homeboyz, Gor Mahia hope to return to winning ways when the Football Kenya Federation Premier League resumes on Saturday, April 13, 2024.

K’Ogalo were unable to find a way past Homeboyz and ended up sharing points in their previous game. Had they collected maximum points, the league champions would have greatly widened the gap at the top.

With Nzoia Sugar, who are at the bottom of the log, their next opponents, Gor Mahia are hopeful of winning and regaining the momentum in the title race.

The Sugar Millers suffered one of the biggest defeats of the season so far when they lost 4-0 to Murang’a Seal. The match against the giants is seen as an acid test for the Bungoma-based club.

The match will be played at Sudi Stadium and Nzoia will hope to capitalise on their home advantage to at least get something from the duel.

Nairobi City Stars and Muranga’ Seal will clash in the other match of the day. Simba wa Nairobi will be keen to work hard and win after going down to Muhoroni Youth in the last game.

On the other hand; Seal will target a win which will give them crucial points of their debut season.

Bandari will host Bidco United at Mabraki in a match that will kick off at 3:00 pm while Kakamega Homeboyz will play host to Bidco United. Bidco, just like their next opponents, managed a point from the previous game.

Sofapaka, who have appointed their former forward Ronald Okoth as the new Chief Executive Officer, will host Ulinzi Stars at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos. KCB will be at Police Sacco to play the cops in a match that will start at 4:00 pm.

On Sunday, Tusker will host FC Talanta in Machakos. This is a perfect opportunity for the Brewers to return to winning ways after going down to Kariobangi Sharks in the last match.

Talanta also lost in their last game when Police saw them off with a 2-1 scoreline and will hope to stop the previous champions in Machakos.

Ingwe vs Rangers

AFC Leopards will be hosted by Posta Rangers in Machakos too. Against Sofapaka, Ingwe fought back for a 1-1 draw to keep their unbeaten run in the league going and a win against Rangers will boost their morale.

On the other hand, Rangers were whitewashed by Shabana and go into the Ingwe match with a tattered ego.

Finally, Tore Bobe will be hosted by Muhoroni at Mambo Leo Stadium in Kisumu.
