Dancan Omalla, Enock Machaka, and Isaac Omweri were among those feted as Nairobi United FC held its end-of-the-season awards gala on Saturday, July 19, 2025, in Mombasa.

The trio were among the players recognised following a stellar campaign that saw the club earn promotion to the Football Kenya Federation Premier League and clinch the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Cup.

Midfielder Isaac Omweri took home the ultimate crown after being named the club’s Most Valuable Player of the season.

The highly rated midfielder, who earned a total of 24 G/A, spoke of his elation after bagging the award.

“I want to thank God for His grace and favour throughout this season: without Him, none of this would be possible.

“To my incredible teammates and the entire Nairobi United family, I am deeply grateful for your support, belief, and unity on and off the field. You’ve all played a part in this great milestone, and I’m truly honoured to be crowned the Most Valuable Player of 2025. This award is ours,” the player said.

Also feted during the gala was Enock Machaka, who took home the golden shoe, and South Sudan international Daniel Bichiok, who was named the best defender.

Isaac Ouma, the team’s influential skipper, bagged the leadership award

Machaka proved an instrumental player in the team’s push for promotion and dispatched the decisive goal in the FKF final against Gor Mahia.

With the win, Nicholas Muyoti’s team sealed a remarkable double in the 2025 season, having earlier clinched the national Super League title.

Meanwhile, youngster Dancan Omalla was voted as the best young talent for the season.

In a statement on his Facebook page, the former Kenya U20 star termed it an honour to be recognised for the award.

“Being named Nairobi United’s Young Player of the Season 2024/25 is a big honour for me. To my family, thank you for always holding me down.

To Nairobi United FC management and the entire technical bench, thank you for trusting and believing in me. To the fans, your love and support this season were everything for us. The start wasn’t easy for me personally, but God did,” he said.
