Nairobi City Stars have received a major boost with the clearance of Japanese forward Yuto Kusaba, making him eligible to feature in the FKF Premier League.

Having completed his registration with the Football Kenya Federation (FKF), the forward is now eligible to participate in the FKF Premier League.

Nairobi City Stars sign Yuto

Despite signing with the club in the offseason, the player faced a period of inactivity as he was initially locked out.

This occurred due to the revelation that international guidelines of the FIFA Transfer Matching System (TMS) had not been met before his transfer to Simba wa Nairobi.

His move to Nairobi City Stars followed his time with Embu-based FC Zenshin, a team competing in the fourth tier of Kenyan football.

Samson Otieno, the team coordinator, expressed relief over the completion of due processes on both international and local transfer platforms, confirming that Yuto is now fully registered.

“That is behind us as the due process has been followed on both international and local transfer platforms. He is now fully registered,” Otieno told the Club’s media.

After facing complications that initially led to his exclusion from action, Yuto, who had joined the club from FC Zenshin, has been actively training with Nairobi City Stars since his return from Japan in early December.

Nairobi City Stars coach

City Stars Head coach Nicholas Muyoti is pleased with Yuto’s availability, acknowledging the positive impact on the team’s forward line.

“Yuto’s availability gives us a good problem to deal with as he adds on to a very active forward line. He brings competitiveness and gives us options to consider,” Muyoti remarked.

Yuto himself is eager to contribute to Nairobi City Stars’ success, assuring fans to expect goals after the long wait for clearance.

“It’s been a long wait to get the clearance to play in the Premier League. Expect my goals,” he said.
