Malkia Striker Veronica Adhiambo expressed her delight after joining Apoel Kfar Saba Volleyball Club, a professional volleyball club based in Kfar Saba, Israel.

Speaking to the Malkia Strikers media page on Saturday, September 27, 2025, Adhiambo, who boasts a wide range of experience as a member of Kenya’s volleyball Olympic team in 2024, expressed optimism about getting started and making her mark at her new home.

“I am happy to be here. I got a warm welcome, and I am hopeful of a great experience here,” she stated.

Ahead of her maiden appearance in Israel, the opposite hitter rallied her new fans to turn out in numbers and support the team.

“I want to tell the fans to come out and support us in our games,” she stated.

Adhiambo’s transfer comes after her exploits in the 2025 World Championships in Thailand, where Kenya mounted a positive campaign despite their group stage exit.

The attacker was Kenya’s bright spot in the global games, earning plaudits with her spikes and unique flair. Among her standout games in Thailand were the opener against Germany, where she clocked 19 points as Kenya just fell short of a win in the loss to the European rivals.

The opposite hitter joins a growing list of Kenya’s volleyball stars on the paid ranks, her move coming after Sharon Chepchumba joined the Azerbaijan league.

Chepchumba, simply known as Chumba, sealed a move to Azerbaijan on Monday, July 28, 2025.

The two-time Olympian, who honed her skills at Kwanzanze Secondary School, had spent the previous season in Vietnam’s Lào Cai before joining the West Asia team.

“Our team has signed a contract with Sharon Chepchumba, a member of the Kenyan national team. The volleyball player spent the last season in Vietnam’s Giang Lao Cai. During his career, the player wore uniforms in Kenyan, Turkish, and Greek clubs,” the club stated on signing Chumba on July 2025.
