Leaders send heartfelt messages to newly elected AFC Leopards officials
Kenya’s football fraternity has been abuzz following the recent election of new AFC Leopards officials. Leaders from both within the club and the wider community have extended warm congratulations and rallied behind the newly elected team.
The elections, held during a special general meeting on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at the Moi International Sports Centre (MISC), Kasarani Indoor Arena, saw Bonface Ngaira Ambani elected as chairman, Isaac Mulanda Mulindi as secretary‑general, and Newton Lime Luchacha as treasurer.
Here are some of the congratulatory messages.
The Westlands Member of Parliament (MP) Tim Wanyonyi, who took part in the voting process, extended his congratulations to the newly elected officials, Bonface Ngaira Ambani, Isaac Mulanda Mulindi, and Newton Lime Luchacha, and wished them success in guiding the club toward progress, unity, and restored glory.
“Today, as a proud member of the AFC Leopards family, and having taken part in casting my vote, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the newly elected officials: Chairman: Bonface Ngaira Ambani, Secretary General: Isaac Mulanda Mulindi and Treasurer: Newton Lime Luchacha.” Wanyonyi congratulated the newly elected officials.
“May you succeed in this esteemed role and guide our beloved club toward progress, unity and restored glory.”
The Principal Secretary for the State Department of Internal Security and National Administration, Raymond Omollo, also congratulated Bonface Ambani after he was elected as the new Chairman.
“Congratulations, Bonface Ambani, on your election as the new Chairman of AFC Leopards SC! As someone who has followed Ingwe’s journey closely, I’m genuinely excited to see your passion and leadership guide the club into a new era. As you take over the mantle from Dan Shikanda,” Omollo said.
“I wish you wisdom, strength and success in steering the Leopards family to greater heights.”
Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa also extended his congratulations to the newly elected chair.
“Congratulations, Bonface Ambani, on your election as the AFC Leopards Chairman,” Barasa congratulated Ambani.
Election results
Ambani received a total of 1,101 votes, defeating Enos Mutoka, who secured 647 votes. Voting was conducted across four polling stations between 8:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., with Ambani leading in each, while Mulindi emerged victorious with 656 votes, defeating Irine Wekesa Sitawa and Robert Omusawa Khamala in a hotly contested race.
Luchacha clinched the seat with 676 votes, overcoming rivals Edwin Chamwada Buhasho and Patrick Kanyangi Logedi.
