KPL top-scorer Ogam speaks on transfer and league targets
Tusker FC striker Ryan Ogam has affirmed his commitment to the club quelling the rife speculation of a possible transfer during the midseason transfer.
The attacker was the subject of much-publicised transfer links to USM Algiers, following his red-form hot streak in the first half of the season.
He took to the club website this Thursday, February 6, 2025, to reveal that it is all behind him as he shifts focus on his league targets.
“It’s true, that there was interest, but for me, my focus has always been on the team and doing what is my duty; performing well for the team. Anything concerning transfer is up to my representatives and my parents and my focus is on football,” Ogam said during an interview with the club.
“I am a Tusker FC player and my focus is on doing better each game until the end of the season. My target is to score more. I am working towards getting 25-30 goals this season,” he asserted.

The budding striker has also opened up on the secret behind his fine showing in front of goal, a factor he attributes hard work and the pivotal role of his teammates and coaches.
“There is no secret. In football, there’s no shortcut and you always have to work hard. I have achieved what I have so far because of the support I have received from my coaches and teammates. We have achieved whatever we have because of teamwork,” he said.
Ogam currently tops the league charts with 15 goals. KCB’s Francis Kahiro comes a distant second with seven.
With a potentially decisive clash against Police FC next on their schedule, Ogam has underscored the importance of the clash, adding that their target for a victory cannot be over-emphasized.
“It’s an important match for us because we are tied at the top with them (Police). We know the value of those three points and we are ready as a team to work and get victory,” Ogam posited.
The teams head to the match perched on the summit with 37 points with each eager to make a statement intent on the league championship.
Police vs Tusker
Police FC ranks the better side statistically approaching the tie on an impressive streak of 11 games unbeaten.
Meanwhile, Tusker FC will look to put behind their poor defensive record that reversed their impact at the opponents goal.
The side was forced to contend with a changed defensive backline in the previous game against KCB.
However, Charles Okere eyes the return of Tom Teka, who could partner Charles Momanyi at the heart of defense.
The Saturday, February 8, 2025 showdown will be staged in Machakos County stadium starting 4:00PM.
