Kimanzi explains how new FKF officials can succeed during their tenure
Former Harambee Stars head coach Francis Kimanzi has advised the new Football Kenya Federation (FKF) leadership on how they can succeed during their tenure.
Hussein Mohammed was recently elected as the president, with McDonald Mariga as his deputy, and the two will be assisted with an equally new National Executive Committee.
Although Kimanzi wants the new office to be given some time to settle, he has pointed out what they need to do in order to upgrade the standard of football in Kenya.
“It’s a new office, and we must give them some time to assess what needs to be fixed. Football evolves rapidly, with new dynamics and technology shaping the game. Kenyan players need to embrace these advancements for development.
“Government support is vital in this arena. Without sufficient backing, the private sector may retreat, leaving the game hard hit. A teamwork approach is needed to bring stakeholders on board and get the game running,” Kimanzi said, as per a local publication.
Top-class coaches
The former Mathare United tactician also called for the production of top-grade coaches because such individuals are key in player development.
“Every player deserves a good coach, irrespective of their level. We must continue building coaching capacity and ensure that development takes precedence over winning. This means focusing on every generation and creating measurable structures.”
