Kenya’s Stanley Wilson loaned to Swedish second-tier side Enköpings SK
Kenya’s rising football talent, Stanley Wilson Omondi, has joined Swedish second-tier side Enköpings SK on loan from AIK for the remainder of the autumn season.
The 19-year-old midfielder has yet to feature in the 2025 Allsvenskan campaign. AIK agreed to send him out on loan to allow him more playing time and experience. At Enköpings, he links up with his fellow Kenya U20 teammate, Irad Mshindi, who also recently joined the club.
Wilson, who celebrated his 19th birthday last this month, has already impressed his new side. According to Enköpings sporting director Pelle Johansson, the Kenyan midfielder caught their attention earlier in the summer during a friendly match against Idol Academy.
“He impressed us greatly in that game,” Johansson said. “We are very happy with our cooperation with AIK and delighted to have him here.”
Born and raised in Kenya, Wilson started his football journey with Darajani Gogo before moving on to Kariobangi Sharks in the Kenyan Premier League. In 2024, he joined AIK’s pre-season training camp and later signed officially with the Swedish giants in August. He made his Allsvenskan debut on 31 August 2024 against IFK Värnamo.

Wilson eager to impress
On the international stage, Wilson has already represented Kenya once, featuring in the COSAFA Cup. Despite his young age, he has shown signs of maturity and ambition, hoping this loan move will sharpen his skills further.
Speaking after his move, Wilson expressed excitement about the opportunity.
“I am very happy to be here,” he said. “It feels like a good place for me to develop. I have got a very good impression of the club. My hope is to perform well and return to AIK stronger next season. That is my goal.”
The midfielder comes from a large family in Kenya, with three brothers and five sisters. A devoted Arsenal fan, he dreams of one day playing for the Premier League giants.
“Yes, that would be something special,” he admitted. “But for that to happen, I must first perform well here and later with AIK.”
Wilson watched Enköpings’ recent match against Karlberg and liked what he saw. He believes he can make a valuable contribution as the team pushes for success in the league.
