Kenya Netball Federation (KNF) has confirmed that Kenya has been invited for the Africa region, World Youth Cup qualifiers to be held in Pretoria, South Africa from March 14 to 24.

Speaking exclusively to People Sports on Tuesday, federation Secretary General (SG) Millicent Busolo was confident that Kenya will triumph in March from South Af-rica and then head to the global event to be held in Gibraltar, August 2024.

“ I am happy that we have landed this invitation, it was long coming and I think with the young girls that we have recruited from secondary schools and colleges with some of them making their na-tional team debuts at senior level, I am positive that we are going to do well,” said Busolo.

Ulinzi Sword’s 18 year old Doreen Akinyi who just fresh from Kobala Secondary School made her debut with the senior national team last year in December during the African Championships in Gaborone, is expected to lead the Kenya youthful side alongside 19 year old Miriam Nekesa Wamani of Kenya Prisons.-Shadrack Andega
