Kiminini MP Kakai Bisau has congratulated the new Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) Term Two Soccer champions, St. Joseph’s Boys, after clinching the 2025 title.

Taking to his X page moments after the team defeated rivals Musingu High School to secure their maiden national title, the lawmaker said the victory was a deserved reward of the team’s sheer determination.

Outstanding victory

“I take this moment to heartily congratulate St. Joseph’s Boys High School, Kitale, for their outstanding victory in the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) soccer finals,” the ardent football fan and patron of the Kiminini Combined FC said.

“With grit, discipline, and unmatched determination, our boys triumphed with a well-earned 1-0 victory over the formidable Musingu Scorpions, bringing the national soccer title home. This historic achievement is not only a reflection of the school’s strong sporting culture but also a testament to the power of teamwork, dedication, and focused mentorship,” he stated.

The lawmaker further thanked the JOBO fraternity for achieving the feat, which further showcased the region’s might as a centre of nurturing sports talents.

As a county, we stand tall and proud. St Joseph’s has once again demonstrated that Trans Nzoia is not only the food basket of Kenya but also a hub of exceptional talent and sporting excellence. To the players, technical team, school administration, and the entire St Joseph’s fraternity, your hard work and sacrifices have borne sweet fruit. Hongera sana, Champions!”

The dominant Brown Saints were crowned as the national champions after edging out Musingu Boys from Kakamega County in a tense final played on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the Mumias Sports Complex.

Shardrack Kiboi notched the decisive goal, which capped off a remarkable journey that started from the regional level and culminated with a historic national championship title for 2025.

JOBO’s road to victory

JOBO edged past the fancied St. Anthony’s Kitale at the county level, heralding their title ambitions for the edition of the Secondary School games.

The team under Cosmas Nabungolo stretched the fine run at the national stage, edging formidable rivals such as Serani School, Moi High Mbiruri, and Garissa High School.

They earned their place in the final after a 3-0 thrashing of Nyanza’s representatives, Agai High School, on Friday, August 1, 2025.

Jobo now focused on the upcoming East Africa Football Games, where they will be joined by the finalist, Musingu.

In the third-place playoff tie, 2024 champions Highway Secondary edged Agai 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

The two also secured qualification for the East African School Games.
