Dominant Kabras Sugar are the Enterprise Cup champions after beating arch-rivals KCB 32-20 at the RFUEA Ground on Saturday, June 8, 2024.

This means the Sugar Millers completed a four-peat in the Enterprise Cup and claimed another local double, going unbeaten once again.

Kabras claimed the lead when Humphrey Asiligwa pounced on the kick and went on to score under the posts for a 5-0 lead. A conversion by Ntabeni Dukisa meant the Sugar Millers were 7-0 up at that point.

The Bankers could have potentially equalized, but Namusasi missed a penalty. It did not take long before Namusisi righted the penalty miss as he slotted home a three-pointer.

The impressive Namusasi was, however, shown a red card for a tackle on Erick Cantona, thereby handing the rivals a numerical advantage. Hillary Salano was brought on for the injured Cantona.

The first ended with Kabras leading by a 13-6 gap.

The second-half score was opened for Dukisa in favour of the Millers. He made a swift move past the KCB defence line, and a try conversion meant that Kabras enjoyed a 20-6 lead.

KCB tried hard and almost completely closed the gap as they defied the numerical disadvantage. Levy Amunga added the extras after Michael Wamalwa’s try to take the score to 25-20.

Injury problem

An injury case hit Kabras again when Barry Robinson left the pitch after a hit from Jacob Ojee.

A final quick through from a dead ball saw Kabras get a final before they later managed to hold on tight and emerge as the winners with a 32-20 victory.
