Kenyan footballer Timothy Noor Ouma has shared his elation after penning a deal with Czech Republic top-tier side, Slavia Prague.

The Czech top-flight side unveiled Ouma on Sunday, February 2, 2025, after agreeing on a contract until July 2029.

“Twenty-year-old central midfielder and Kenyan international Timothy Noor Ouma is moving to Slavia from Swedish IF Elfsborg. The great talent of European football has signed a contract at Eden until June 30, 2029,” Slavia announced.

In an interview with the club’s media, Ouma expressed his excitement as he revealed he could not wait to start the adventure with the Red and Whites.

“I’m eager to join the team and get moving. I’m looking forward to joining the boys and taking the next step. It means a lot to me, I can’t wait to get to work together,” he said.

New atmosphere

Switching Elfsborg for Slavia, Ouma’s new home will now be the 19,370-capacity Eden Stadium, and the midfielder is looking forward to sampling its new atmosphere.

“The atmosphere here is crazy, I haven’t seen a match where it wasn’t full. I can’t wait to run in front of them in the colours of Slavia,” he added.

Top in the performances that earned him this latest move is his exploits in the Europa League games.

The Kenyan Ouma featured in both the preliminary rounds and the league stage of the Europa League, making a total of 13 starts, scoring a goal and an assist in a 2-3 loss against Alkmaar on September 25, 2025.

He also lasted the full game in Elfsborg’s huge 1-0 win over AS Roma.

“It was probably the second best. I had a goal and an assist, but we lost. My best match was against AS Roma, which we beat 1:0 at home. It was an unforgettable night for the club. And for me as well. My career started from the very basics and now to come up against top great players is motivating. I also managed to score two goals. Overall, I’m happy with how the league went,” he said of his overall European exploits.

Ouma’s statistics

The former Nairobi City Stars played joined Elfsborg in 2022. He made 23 appearances as a member of the starting lineup, scoring once and providing two assists. Elfsborg finished seventh, losing 20 points to champions Malmö FF.

The combative midfielder has featured for the national team twice under immediate former coach Engin Firat.

Slavia has won 21 league titles and is ranked as the most dominant side in the central European nation with seven league titles since the foundation of the Czech League in 1993.
