How Mouti won Resurrection meet in Nakuru

A remarkable turnout of 140 enthusiastic golfers filled the lush greens for the 7th edition of the Resurrection Golf Tournament, held on Thursday, May 1, proudly sponsored by the dedicated Protestant members of the Nakuru Golf Club.
This vibrant event was a heartfelt celebration of the risen Christ, following the successful Lenten Golf Day on Good Friday, an occasion graciously supported by the Catholic members of the club.
Kamonjo Kiburi, the passionate organizer who diligently gathered resources for the daylong tournament, was absolutely overjoyed by the impressive turnout that brought together such a diverse group of participants. “It is incredibly fulfilling to witness so many golfers joining in this edition of the Resurrection Golf Tournament, celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ with individuals from all walks of life and various clubs,” expressed Kamonjo with enthusiasm.
On the picturesque course, Boniface Mouti emerged victorious as the Overall winner, scoring an impressive 43 stableford points while navigating the course from a handicap of 25. “This was one of those extraordinary days where everything just clicks into place.
I’ve been putting in a lot of practice, and it brings me immense joy to see my efforts finally paying off with this win,” Mouti shared with a smile. Former Vice Chairman Linda Munyao showcased her skill by clinching the Division A winner title with a commendable 39 stableford points, playing off a handicap of 17, closely followed by Francis Kioni, who also impressed with 38 stableford points while playing off a handicap of 10.
In Division B, the esteemed clergyman Nicholas Kamau triumphed, achieving 42 stableford points while playing off a handicap of 15, ahead of Samuel Keige, who managed a respectable 41 stableford points. The top prize in Division C was awarded to Dr. Gachara Ndegwa from Thika Sports Club, who shone brightly with a score of 43 stableford points.
Nancy Kimemia secured the coveted Sponsors Prize, playing off a handicap of 23 and posting a commendable score of 37 stableford points.
The Senior winner title was honored to Sammy Ndun’gu, who scored 37 stableford points, while the Junior winner accolade went to Donnel Bett, also achieving a score of 37 stableford points.
Ken Serem, representing Eldoret Club (The Musketeers), dazzled with his exceptional performance, recording the lowest strokes on the course at 75, thus claiming the Gross prize while playing off a handicap of -1. Florence Wafula emerged as the Lady winner, showcasing her prowess with a remarkable 42 stableford points, while playing off a handicap of 26.
