Harambee Stars touch down in Arusha ahead of Four Nations Tournament
The Kenya National Football Team, Harambee Stars, landed in Arusha, Tanzania, this Saturday, July 19, 2025, for the Four Nations Tournament.
According to an update from the team on Saturday, July 19, 2025, Benni McCarthy’s team landed in Arusha Airport at midday after departing Kenya earlier on for the neighbouring country.
The team will use the tournament to fine-tune preparations for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) that will be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania and kicking off on Saturday, August 2, 2025.
More changes
The development comes after McCarthy made more changes to the final 25-man squad for the tournament, scheduled to take place in Tanzania from July 21 to July 27, 2025.
The offensive department was the most affected, with the SA tactician incorporating additional faces in former KPL Golden Boot winner Masud Juma and Posta Rangers attacker Felix Oluoch.
The pair links up with Austin Odongo, Mohammed Bajaber, David Sakwa, and Ryan Ogam in the players task to get the goals for Kenya.

In the goalkeeping department, McCarthy has called up Byrne Omondi, Faruk Shikalo, and Sepstianos Wekesa to guard the posts. The defence features a mix of youth and experience, including Siraj Mohammed, Manzur Suleiman, Pamba Swaleh, Abud Omar, Alphonce Omija, Sylvester Owino, Michael Kibwage, Daniel Sakari, Lewis Bandi, and Kevin Okumu.
As per the revealed match schedule, Harambee Stars will kick off their Four Nations tournament games against noisy neighbours Uganda on Monday, July 21, 2025.
The same day will also see Tanzania clash against Senegal.
Benni McCarthy’s team will later face Tanzania on match day 2 on Thursday, July 24, 2025.
The four teams will field teams composed of home-based players.
Kenya will be hoping to perpetuate their good run in the mini-tournament after clinching a similar competition in March 2024 held in Malawi.
A team comprising Harambee Stars’ foreign and local players bagged the tourney after a spectacular come-from-behind 3-1 victory against Zimbabwe at the Bingu Stadium.
