Nairobi County Women’s League side Halisi Soccer Queens received a significant boost in their pursuit of an impressive season after their affiliation fees of Sh10,000 were paid by Health Aid Assistance International (HAAI).

Halisi have started their season strongly, with results including a dominant 14-0 victory over Wolfsburg last month.

“At HAAI, we believe that football is more than just a game. It’s a tool for transformation. Through sport, we connect with youth, create safe spaces for dialogue, promote mental and physical health, and encourage leadership by girls,” said HAAI Chief Executive Director Joanne Amara Sinei in a statement.

Former FKF Nairobi County East Vice Chairman George Onyango challenged the Halisi girls to earn promotion to the Super League, promising more support should they achieve the feat.

“We are very proud of your performances so far. I believe, though, that there is a lot of room for improvement, and we will walk with you every step of the way to help you achieve your goals,” said Onyango, who is now a representative of HAAI, while handing over a full set of uniforms to the Mbotela-based side.

Also present were representatives from National Bank of Kenya Greenspan branch, who are partners, as well as Joel Lule, the club director and former area MCA.

As students prepare to return to school for the second term, the teenage girls also received sanitary pads for their menstrual health.
