Gor Mahia made it back-to-back wins after beating Mara Sugar in a Football Kenya Federation Premier League match at Raila Odinga Stadium, Homa Bay County, on Saturday, November 30, 2024.

Mara Sugar, whose coach made three changes to the starting XI, were unable to stop Gor Mahia from getting yet another win following a midweek victory over Kakamega Homeboyz.

Meanwhile, both sides could not take advantage of their first-half chances, as none found the back of the net. However, Gor Mahia proved lethal in the second half when they struck twice to earn three points as their resurgence continued.

Interim head coach Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno brought on Musa Masika and Gideon Bendeka in the second half, changes that proved vital.

The Sugar Millers, who have been in good form since they made their debut in the Premier League this season, managed to hold Gor Mahia at bay for most of the second half. The Premier League defending champions, however, kept fighting until their opponents fell.

After combining superbly with Ronney Onyango, Austin Odhiambo, the captain, found the back of the net. The former AFC Leopards attacking midfielder then provided an assist for Bendeka’s goal, which sealed the victory for the giants.

This is another win for coach Zico since he took over after Leonardo Neiva was sacked as head coach.

Bidco hold KCB

Elsewhere, Posta Rangers and Talanta shared points from a 0-0 draw. KCB and Bidco United also ended in a goalless draw.
