FKF rallies fans for support as Harambee Stars face Seychelles
Football Kenya Federation President Hussein Mohammed has called upon football enthusiasts in the country to come out in their numbers and support the Harambee Stars as the home team takes on Seuchelles in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.
In his statement on Monday, September 7, 2025, Mohammed has asked the country’s football community to stick together amid the national team’s dreams of playing at the forthcoming World Cup, which hit a snag.
Harambee Stars were condemned to a 3-1 defeat by the visiting Gambian side on Friday, September 5, 2025, at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, in Group F Qualifiers. The defeat officially confirmed Harambee Stars elimination from the campaign with three matches left to go.
Following the humiliating defeat, a section of football fans in the country expressed disappointment in the national team that had a successful African Nations Championship (CHAN 2024). Hussein Mohammed has, however, asked the football community to keep supporting the national team regardless of the recent slip.
Hussein Mohamed’s message to Harambee Stars
”In football, as in life, we must stand together through both the highs and the lows. Victories lift our spirits, but even in setbacks, we find lessons, resilience, and renewed determination. Our commitment to Harambee Stars must remain steadfast because their journey is our journey as a nation.” Hussein Mohammed said.
”In recent months, the team has united Kenyans in pride and passion, reminding us what is possible when we come together under one flag. Tomorrow’s clash against Seychelles is not only another step in the World Cup qualifiers but also our last opportunity in a while to enjoy home support.” He added. I urge all Kenyans to fill the stands, rally behind the boys, and give them the strength that only our unity can provide.”
Hussein Mohammed was speaking on Monday morning after he had joined the Harambee Stars players and technical bench for breakfast in Nairobi, where he assured them of our full support and belief. Ahead of Tuesday’s match, Harambee Stars have been enjoying the support of the home crowd in their latest fixtures at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.
