FKF Premier League: Okere elated as Tusker edge Ulinzi Stars
Tusker FC head coach Charles Okere has expressed delight after his charges held their nerve to edge Ulinzi Stars 1-0 in round 12 of the ongoing Football Kenya Federation Premier League, played on Friday, December 5, 2025, at the SportPesa Arena in Murang’a.
Following the victory, coach Okere said the players held good ground to ensure, despite pressure, they guarded the victory to start the month with a win.
Okere delighted
“It is a positive and great feeling to secure these three points and with a clean sheet. It is great starting off December with a win, and it signals good things to come. The victory also sets our morale high,” Charles Okere told club media.
“They have done really well over the last two matches, and I am really pleased with their performance. It is all about their belief, and they are getting it right in terms of our strategy and how we play, and hopefully they can remain consistent,” he added.
Dennis Oalo’s first-half penalty secured three vital points for the Brewers to climb up the standings to third with 18 points in 12 matches. Oalo converted from the spot after Curtis Wekesa was hacked down inside the box to ensure the team collects back-to-back wins.

Wekesa was brought down when he raced to a Thomas Omolle cut back, the winger having done well to beat the keeper. As he took a touch on the ball, the forward was hacked down, and Oalo made no mistake from the spot for his fourth goal of the season.
It was a calming goal, especially with Ulinzi having started faster off the blocks. Captain Charles Momanyi had made two last-ditch crucial efforts to deny Ulinzi with an open goal after some nervous defending.
Tusker take control
However, once the Brewers settled, they took control of the game. Omolle was a constant threat to the soldiers and had a clean chance at goal in the 27th minute. The forward had done well to beat his marker and storm into the box. He took a little dink over the keeper, but the effort couldn’t gather enough pace with Ulinzi clearing.

In the second half, the boys gave as much energy and piled on the pressure for a second goal. David Polepole, who had come on at the turn for Omolle, had a sniff at goal when he struck from the left, but his effort was blocked.
Wekesa also had a go at goal when he drove in from the left, but his shot didn’t fly on target. Ulinzi put in some pressure in the last minutes of the game, but the players defended well to ensure the points were secured.
