The Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKF PL) match between Gor Mahia and KCB has been called off due to an unplayable surface at Kenyatta Stadium.

The record league champions were scheduled to play KCB on Sunday, April 6, but the game could not kick off due to poor surface, according to the Bankers.

“The match has been called off after the match officials deemed the playing surface unplayable following the heavy rains before kickoff,” a social media statement by KCB read.

Meanwhile, Shabana registered a 3-1 win over Bandari at Gusii Stadium.

Austine Odongo scored, what is his third goal in two games, the opener in the 23rd minute. The hosts could have extended their lead had Ezekiah Omuri found the back of the net with an open chance later on.

The Dockers came close to equalizing minutes after going down, but Tore Bobe’s goalkeeper, Maxwell Mulili, did well to stop Geoffrey Ojunga’s shot.

Mark Okolla headed in a free kick from Brian Michira to extend the lead for Shabana just as the second half got started.

Nehemiah Onchiri scored the third for Shabana as he did well to beat the Harambee Stars goalkeeper Bryne Omondi. Ali Juma Halafu scored Bandari’s goal.

Tusker held

Meanwhile, Tusker were held to a 1-1 draw by Mara Sugar at Awendo Stadium.

The draw means Tusker failed to go to the top of the table above Kenya Police.

Meanwhile, Chris Erambo scored the opening goal in favour of the Brewers before the hosts equalised through Samuel Odaro.

Police were held to a 0-0 draw by Nairobi City Stars.
