The FKF Cup quarterfinal pairings have been confirmed following the conclusion of the matches played over the weekend.

Two sides from the lower tiers have made it to the last eight alongside four FKF Premier League sides after the round of 16 matches.

FKF Cup holders

FKF Premier League sides Kenya Police and Sofapaka are set to face off in the first quarterfinal date, while another matchup between FKF PL clubs will see KCB FC tackle defending champions Kakamega Homeboyz.

AFC Leopards have booked a date against Compel FC, while SS Assad have been paired against Kariobangi Sharks. The matches are set to be played on April 27-28, 2024.

SS Assad qualified for the Cup quarterfinals by defeating Denmak 5-4 in post-match penalties on Sunday, March 31, 2024, at the Ukunda Grounds. The match concluded with a 1-1 draw in regulation time.

Mwinyi Chibato opened the scoring for Denmak in the 11th minute, and the stalemate persisted until the halftime whistle, leaving the scoreline at 1-0.

Following the interval, Chiwaya Muruche leveled the scores in the 80th minute for SS Assad. In the penalties, Juma Mwaiao scored the winning penalty for SS Assad.

Meanwhile, at the Mamboleo Stadium, AFC Leopards emerged victorious through Kaycie Odhiambo’s lone goal in the 57th minute.

In the early kickoff game, Division One Zone B side Compel defeated FKF National Super League side Mara Sugar 2-0.

Kariobangi Sharks staged a comeback to secure a 2-1 victory over Ulinzi Stars at the Police Sacco Stadium. Ulinzi Stars initiated the scoring in the 2nd minute through a Lumumba Issa goal.

Kariobangi Sharks’ Fortune Omoto restored parity with his goal in the 20th minute. With eight minutes remaining before the final whistle, John Makwatta propelled Kariobangi Sharks into the lead, securing the game at 2-1.

Holders Kakamega Homeboyz advanced to the quarterfinals of the Cup after clinching a 1-0 victory against Tusker on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at Jomo Kenyatta Mamboleo Stadium.

The defending champions broke the deadlock in the 24th minute when Oliver Machaka found the back of the net with a decisive goal.

In the earlier fixture at Mamboleo Stadium, Bungoma Stars saw their impressive cup run come to an end as they fell to Sofapaka in an encounter that ended in a penalty shootout.

Bungoma Stars took an early lead in the first half with goals from Makokha Meshack in the 5th minute and Wycliffe Wanyonyi in the 38th minute.

However, Sofapaka rallied in the second half, with Mieno Humphrey scoring in the 64th minute and Odhiambo Paul in the 71st minute to level the scores. Sofapaka eventually clinched the victory in the penalty shootout, prevailing 5-4.

In other matches, Kenya Police secured a 3-1 win over Mombasa Stars, courtesy of a brace from Tito Okello and a 37th-minute goal by Alvin Mang’eni, with Ngoto Alvin scoring the lone goal for Mombasa Stars.

Meanwhile, KCB booked their spot in the quarterfinals with a 3-1 victory over fellow FKF Premier League side Bidco United.
