‘FKF committed to upholding transparency and accountability’ – President Hussein Mohammed

President Hussein Mohammed has stressed that the new Football Kenya Federation (FKF) leadership will uphold principles of accountability and transparency as it discharges its duties.
Mohammed made the promise after confirming reception of a report from the FKF ad hoc committee on Saturday, February 1, 2025.
He also commended the committee for what he called diligent work and reaffirmed the federation’s commitment to implementing reforms that will drive sustainable progress in Kenyan football.
“The FKF Transition Ad Hoc Committee has played a crucial role in identifying areas that require improvement to ensure efficiency and good governance. We appreciate their efforts and will now present the report to NEC for validation before moving towards implementation,” Mohammed said as per the FKF’s official website.
The FA’s boss also noted that the recommendations by the committee mark the beginning of the reforms to strengthen the federation’s structures.
“I have officially received the FKF Transition Ad Hoc Committee’s final report, which highlights key areas that need action. This marks the beginning of necessary reforms to strengthen our structures and operations. The report will be submitted to NEC for validation, after which we will move decisively to implement the recommendations.
“The federation remains committed to upholding transparency, accountability, and professionalism as it enters this new phase of growth,” he said in a post on his X handle on Saturday, February 1, 2025.
The committee was chaired by FKF Vice President McDonald Mariga, and its core mandate was to oversee a smooth transition for the federation.
“Over the past weeks, the committee conducted a comprehensive review of FKF’s governance structures, financial management, human resources, and legal framework, identifying key areas for reform.
“The report provides a roadmap to strengthen institutional integrity, enhance operational continuity, and prepare the federation’s leadership for long-term success. It will now be submitted to NEC for validation before the implementation of its recommendations,” the FKF statement said.

Mandate
The mandate of the committee ranged from facilitating operational continuity, establishing robust governance structures, and preserving institutional integrity to preparing the incoming leadership and commissioning a forensic audit to enhance transparency and accountability.
