As the country turns its attention to football this Tuesday, November 18, 2025, the spotlight is on both the senior and junior national teams.

Harambee Stars are set to take on Senegal at 6:00 pm EAT at the Mardan Sports Complex in Turkey, a friendly match that comes at a crucial time as the team builds momentum for upcoming fixtures.

The nation’s hopes are also firmly behind the Junior Stars, who begin their AFCON U17 qualifiers against Somalia on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at 4:00 pm.

FKF President Hussein Mohammed shared an encouraging message hours before the match, calling on the young players to carry the country’s flag with confidence and unity. He began by reminding the team of the effort that brought them this far. “Best of luck to the Junior Stars as they begin their U-17 AFCON qualifiers against Somalia today. Your hard work and determination have brought you this far; it’s now time to put in the work,” the statement read.

Before moving to his next point, he encouraged them to embrace the spirit of competition.

“Let the thrill of the competition bring out the best in you, as a team you are unstoppable, trust in each other and victory is all but guaranteed,” he stated.

Hussein then emphasised the national support behind the team, reminding them that they are not walking into the qualifiers alone. “The whole nation is rallying behind you, believe in yourself as much as we believe in you,” he stated.

The message comes at a moment when Kenyan football fans have much to look forward to. The senior team’s friendly match in Turkey has already sparked excitement, while the Junior Stars’ campaign marks another step in rebuilding confidence in youth football.

For many Kenyans, today feels like a rare double-header of national pride, a day when both teams carry the country’s hopes into two different stadiums, but with one purpose: to show growth, resilience, and belief in the future of Kenyan football.
