Every NSL club gets new match balls as FKF steps up league support
The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, handed a boost to clubs in the National Super League (NSL) by providing each team with five quality match balls for the ongoing 2025/26 season.
FKF said the move is aimed at raising the standards of the second-tier league while also supporting clubs that often struggle with resources. The federation noted that the supply of new balls will help improve competition and ease pressure on teams that have had to dig into their own pockets for match-day equipment.
“To boost competition in the ongoing 2025/26 season, the Football Kenya Federation has provided every National Super League club with five quality match day balls,” FKF stated.

This gesture, although seemingly simple, has been welcomed by many football lovers as a step in the right direction. The NSL is home to dozens of clubs spread across the country, with players and coaches often highlighting financial and logistical challenges that weigh heavily on the growth of the sport.
By providing match balls, FKF is signalling its intention to walk with the clubs in their journey and to ensure a level playing field. According to the federation, the initiative is one of the progressive supports for the clubs. “Part of our continued commitment to supporting clubs and raising the standards of our leagues,” the statement reads

The NSL has been viewed as the bridge between grassroots football and the elite Kenyan Premier League (KPL). Many of the country’s top talents pass through it before moving on to the top flight or even securing opportunities abroad.
Such interventions, even in small doses, have the potential to improve the league’s profile. For the players, having reliable match balls is not only about the game itself but also about feeling recognised and supported in their craft.
The FKF has promised to continue making such investments as part of its broader vision to uplift Kenyan football. For now, the NSL clubs head into the season with a fresh sense of motivation and new balls at their feet.
