Esuchi, Ndiho dominate Wakili Golf Day

George Esuchi and Josphine Ndiho collaborated effectively to secure the winning score of 47 stableford points at the Wakili Golf Day held at The Golf Park golf course at the weekend.

The tournament was played in a greensomes format, the duo complementing each other throughout the course to earn the well-deserved win, with 60 participating teams with a total of 120 golfers.

The event was sponsored by several law firms and organisations, including Theuri Wasonga Advocates, Mamra Sitacus Law Advocates LLP, Esuchi and Associates Advocates, Leornard Chelule Advocate, Charles Wamae Advocate, SES Law Advocates, and Kotonya Njoroge LLP Advocates.

Other sponsors included Luxe and Allure Events, ICEA Lion Group, and Homeboyz Radio, among others and organised by the ladies’ section led by Lady Captain Neddie Akello.

While accepting the prize, Esuchi, one of the sponsors, expressed his gratitude to the sponsors and encouraged others to become sponsors, quoting 2 Corinthians 9:6: “Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.”

The second overall team prize was awarded to the team of Ally Babu and rising junior golfer Beldinah Monchari, who achieved a decent score of 45 stableford points.

Following them in third place were Nimra Devi and Captain Sam Mbinda, who also scored 43 stableford points, while Eve Mwangi and Marvin Kiragu finished fourth with the same score.

Eshuchi returned to the podium to receive the Longest Drive Men’s prize while elite lady golfer Mercy Nyanchama won the Longest Drive Ladies prize.

The Nearest to Pin contest saw Stephen Kinyanjui win in the Men category, while Monchari won the Nearest to Pin Lady prize.

At the Eldoret Golf Club, Johana Cheptoo delivered an impressive performance at the Eldoret Golf Club on Friday, securing the Minet Kenya Golf tournament overall title with an outstanding score of 41 stableford points.

This remarkable achievement set her apart in a competitive field during the tournament, which also celebrated the grand opening of Minet Kenya’s new branch located at Daima Tower in Eldoret Town—a significant step in the company’s efforts to broaden its network across the region.

In the Men’s category, Navraj Sagoo shone brightly, playing off a handicap of 17 and posting an impressive 41 stableford points to clinch the top prize.

Close behind him was Jaydeep Shah, who, with a handicap of 21, secured the second-place position with a commendable score of 40 stableford points, showcasing the competitive spirit of the tournament.

In the Ladies’ category, Adam Waseka emerged victorious with an impressive score of 41 stableford points, playing off a handicap of 22. Jane Koech followed her closely, finishing in second place with 39 stableford points while managing a handicap of 19.

Additionally, the Guest prize was claimed by Godfrey Kitiwa, who demonstrated skill with a score of 35 stableford points. He was matched in score by Dr Oliver Langat, who also achieved a total of 35 stableford points, showcasing his talent among the guests.

Among the Senior Men, Shanti Shah stood out with a solid score of 36 stableford points, while the Senior Lady title went to Jedidah Keitany, who, despite playing off a handicap of 21, managed to secure 34 stableford points, demonstrating her consistent performance on the course.

This tournament not only highlighted remarkable individual performances but also fostered a sense of community and collaboration, marking another successful chapter in the local golfing calendar.
