Enkare Ngiro Secondary, Rongena and Sekenani Girls schools reaffirmed their sporting dominance at the Term Two Narok County games, with Enkare defending their basketball 3×3 title, Rongena sweeping three major trophies, and Sekenani sealing a dramatic netball win.

Under the leadership of Principal Seela Kuluo, Enkare Ngiro Secondary showcased their dominance on the court, effortlessly dismantling their opponents.

They cruised to an impressive 18-2 victory over Ololulunga Boys High School and followed it up with a commanding 14-2 win against Oltarakwai Secondary School in the round-robin matches.

Speaking after their win, Principal Kuluo lauded the players’ focus and team spirit, attributing the victory to years of consistent training and mentorship.

“These young men aren’t just playing basketball; they embody the values we stand for as a school. They dedicate themselves to rigorous training, they listen and learn, and above all, they show respect for one another and their coaches. That’s the true essence of what makes them champions,” Kuluo said after the game.

Kuluo added that Enkare Ngiro is committed to holistic education, where sports and academics go hand in hand.

“We at Enkare Ngiro believe that education is more than just completing tests. Leadership, the arts, and sports are all essential components of a student’s development. It is our responsibility as educators to identify, develop, and mentor such talents,” Kuluo added.

The principal also praised the dedication of the teaching and coaching staff and hinted at the school’s ambition to compete at higher levels.

“We are convinced that we are capable of representing Narok in regional and national tournaments. We’ll keep helping the boys reach their full potential because they are motivated and ready for even more success,” Kuluo stated.

In Narok West sub-county, Sekenani Girls Secondary School once again demonstrated their netball prowess, edging out hosts Moi Naikarra Girls 18-17 in a thrilling encounter during the Term Two Games held at Moi Naikarra High School.

The narrow win was the highlight of a perfect run, as the defending county champions completed the tournament unbeaten.

Under the steady leadership of Principal Nelly Kiok, Sekenani Girls has become a symbol of excellence in both academics and sports.

“What you’re seeing here is the outcome of hard work, discipline, and mentoring—it’s not just a sporting victory. As a school, we are dedicated to supporting our girls’ dedication and potential everywhere,” Kiok remarked.

She stressed that the school believes in holistic development, using sports as a platform to teach critical life skills.

“Sports is a vital part of education; it teach teamwork, leadership, and resilience. These are values they carry into the classroom and into life after school,” she added.

According to her, several girls on the team have had the opportunity to travel beyond Narok, thanks to their athletic performance, boosting their confidence and life exposure.

“We don’t just play to win trophies, we play to build confidence, character and open doors. Some of our girls never imagined they’d step outside this region, but sports have changed that,” she said.

She urged other institutions to embrace talent development alongside academic pursuits, noting that students thrive when their different abilities are nurtured.

Rongena Secondary School, on the other hand, stamped their authority by sweeping three titles: girls’ football, boys’ volleyball, and girls’ volleyball, cementing its status as a regional sports powerhouse.
