Chandaria, Alobo reign fifth round of Karting contest

Shane Chandaria and Walter Alobo were the top drivers at the weekend in Athi River during the fifth round of the Kenya National Karting Championships held at the Whistling Morans Track.

Chandaria amassed 100 points after clinching all heats with a total score of 25 points per heat with similar points for being top in the Cadet Class.

The youngster was electric in his 60cc machine number 56 with all maneuvers and corners taken in stride with his kart especially at top speed at the straight lines.

Anay Doshi Chandaria was second overall in the class amassing 86 points  despite finishing a disappointing eight in the opening heat.

Doshi was runner-up and third placed in the subsequent heats. His final tally points was 65 in what was not his best run on the track.

Charles Kahumbura emerged third overall with 81 points in the class followed by Wendell Mutegi on 73 points with posting good times on the board.

In the Rotax Junior Class,Myles Imbayi posted an impressive 75 points on the final tally and an overall 99 points on the board.
