Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Hussein Mohammed has urged Kenyans to stand behind Nairobi United as the team prepares for one of its biggest tests yet in continental football.

The club is set to face Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at 8:00 pm EAT at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium, a match that has attracted national attention due to what is at stake.

In his message of encouragement posted on X on Sunday, November 23, 2025, Hussein Mohammed reminded the country that Nairobi United is carrying the hopes of millions as the only Kenyan side still competing at the continental level.

He described the match as a defining moment for the club, especially given their impressive journey so far.

The FKF boss began his statement by highlighting the weight of the evening ahead.

“A crucial evening for Nairobi United as they face Wydad in Morocco,” the statement reads.

He noted that despite being newcomers to the CAF Confederation Cup, the team has consistently demonstrated resilience and quality. Hussein emphasised that their presence in the tournament is already historic.

“As Kenya’s only representatives remaining in continental competition, they carry the nation’s hopes with them,” he added.

Nairobi United’s performance this season has inspired fans across the country, especially after defying odds during their debut campaign to reach this stage.

Their run has been marked by determination, growing confidence, and moments that have won them admiration far beyond their home supporters.

Hussein praised this spirit. “The team has already shown remarkable character and competitiveness on their debut at this level. I wish them success as they step onto the big stage once again,” he concluded his message with a warm wish of goodwill.

For many Kenyans, tonight’s match feels bigger than a regular fixture; it is a chance for the country to remain visible on the continental football map. As the team walks out under the floodlights in Casablanca, they do so with the weight of expectation but also with pride, hope, and nationwide backing that continues to grow.
