Harambee Stars and Power Dynamos striker Moses Shumah is angling for the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League games.

Dynamos are due to face off against Asec Mimosas this Saturday, September 20, as the preliminary rounds of the club continental competition kick off across the continent.

The former Homeboyz striker heads into the clash fresh from notching a brace in his home debut against Napsa Stars on Saturday, September 13, 2025.

“Power Dynamos now shift focus to continental duty. They host Ivorian giants, ASEC Mimosas, in the CAF Champions League first preliminary round on September 20th at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium,” a statement from the AbaYellow stated.

A win against the Ivorian heavyweights will see the Zambian champions advance to the next stage, where the winner of the match between Namibia’s African Stars and Vipers FC of Uganda waits in the wings.

Shumah will be eyeing extending his fine start to club football to the international scene. He was firing on all cylinders on Saturday against Napsa Stars, where he completed his double in 30 minutes.

The marksman needed little time to introduce himself by scoring the match’s opener in the 50th minute.

Completes his double

Shumah rose highest to nod home from close range as the Kitwe-based team broke an almost hour-long deadlock.

He went close to completing his brace when his curling effort came back off the bar with nine minutes left to play.

The reigning Kenya Premier League top scorer with Kakamega Homeboyz still had time to complete his double in the 90th minute.

The fine showing for the attacker comes months after he earned his move to the Zambian top league after topping the scoring charts of the Football Kenya Federation Premier League for the 2025 season.

He led the league scoring charts with 17 goals, a feat earning him a move to the record-time Zambia champions.

Meanwhile, Kenya representatives Police FC will be up against Somalia’s top-tier side, Mogadishu CC.

The Somalian champions touched down in Nairobi on September 12, 2025, ahead of the CAF CL tie. As part of their preparations, the club flew in from Tanzania, where, alongside their Kenyan opponents, they took part in the CECAFA Club Championship games.
