Harambee Stars duo of Alphonce Omija and Moses Shumah made their respective appearances abroad as their teams played out to mixed fortunes on Saturday, September 13, 2025.

In Zambia, Shumah was firing from all cylinders, notching a brace in a dramatic 2- 0 victory over Napsa Stars at the Arthur Davies Stadium.

The marksman needed little time to introduce himself by scoring the match’s opener in the 50th  minute.

Completes his double

Shumah rose highest to nod home from close range as the Kitwe-based team broke an almost hour-long deadlock.

He went close to completing his brace when his curling effort came back off the bar with nine minutes left to play.

The reigning Kenya Premier League top scorer with Kakamega Homeboyz still had time to complete his double in the 90th minute.

The fine showing for the attacker comes months after he earned his move to the Zambian top league after topping the scoring charts of Football Kenya Federation Premier League for the 2025 season.

The notched 17 league goals, the feat earning him a move to the record time Zambia champions.

Omija debuts

The striker achieved the feat after registering 17 goals in the campaign as Homeboyz ended third in the standings to write his name in the history books of Kenya’s top-flight competition.

The tally saw him pip FC Talanta’s Emmanuel Osoro, who scored 16, and Ryan Ogam of Tusker in a captivating race that was decided on the final rounds of fixtures.

Meanwhile, former Gor Mahia defender, Alphonce Omija, also made his debut in the Tunisian top-tier league as Etoile Sahel rallied from a goal to claim a crucial point away to rivals al Monasty.

Omija was among the starters in the tie, just days after he switched to the Tunisia club.

Raqi Alawany’s effort in the 83rd minute saw the visitors level matters to snatch a point in the first division meeting between the two sides.
