Mashemeji Derby postponed
Mashemeji Derby, initially set for Sunday, March 2, 2025, was postponed with football authorities citing unavailability of the venue to host the match.
It should be noted that the two teams haven’t faced each other this season, with the league already in the second leg.
The fixture was originally scheduled for Kasarani. Football Kenya Federation in a statement cited the lack of facility, promising to announce new dates soon.
‘’Football Kenya Federation regrets to announce the postponement of the highly anticipated FKF Premier League fixture between AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia, originally scheduled for Sunday,’’ a communique from FKF stated.
‘’The decision follows the inability of the designated home team to secure a suitable venue for the match. Nyayo National Stadium and MISC Kasarani, the primary venues for such high-profile fixtures, remain unavailable due to ongoing renovations in preparation for the CHAN tournament in August.”
However, the date and venue for the clash have now been confirmed to be Sunday, March 30, 2025, at Nyayo National Stadium.
