Widows of driver killed in Kedowa crash that claimed five lives appeal for help
Two widows of a driver killed in a fatal road accident at Kedowa along the Kericho-Nakuru Highway have appealed for assistance, saying they do not know how they will cope after losing their breadwinner.
The late Philip Kirui, who was driving a Toyota Probox involved in a head-on collision with a Mercedes trailer on Thursday morning, December 25, 2025, left behind two widows who are both pregnant, along with young children.
Widows’ plea for help
Speaking to the media at their home on December 25, 2025, the widows recounted the shock of receiving the devastating news of their husband’s death in the early hours of Christmas morning.
“I was called at around 7 am and told my husband had been in an accident. When I reached Londiani, I was told he was already gone. He had two wives. He was building houses for us. And he has left us with children. He has left us with young children, and we don’t even know where to start. We don’t know where to start,” one of the widows recounted.

Her co-wife described their dire situation, revealing that the family had nothing to eat on Christmas Day.
“As you can see, this is our current state. We haven’t eaten anything, even on Christmas. We have nothing. Whoever hears us, please help us,” she pleaded.
