What to know about KUCCPS’ second revision ahead of September reporting
Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has reopened its application portal for a second revision of courses, offering thousands of 2025 KCSE candidates another opportunity to secure placement ahead of the September university reporting period.
In a notice issued on Saturday, May 16, 2026, KUCCPS announced that the revision window will remain open until May 22, 2026.
The exercise targets students who either did not apply during the first application phase or failed to secure placement in their preferred courses.
According to KUCCPS Chief Executive Officer Agnes Mercy Wahome, candidates who qualified for university admission but missed placement are encouraged to log into the portal and apply for available programmes.
“We call upon all 2025 Form Four leavers who qualified for degree programmes but have not applied for placement, and those who applied but have not secured a course, to log into the system and apply again,” Wahome said.
At the same time, KUCCPS has warned students who already received SMS notifications confirming provisional placement not to submit fresh applications during the ongoing revision exercise.

The agency said candidates who successfully secured provisional slots will receive official details of their university and course placements in July 2026.
“Dear Candidate, You have secured a provisional placement in one of the degree courses you selected. Details of the course and university will be communicated in July 2026. Please do not attempt to apply again,” read part of the message sent to applicants.
KUCCPS revealed that 212,510 students who scored a mean grade of C+ and above in the 2025 KCSE examinations have already applied for placement. This represents 79.1 per cent of the 268,714 candidates who qualified for university admission.
Highly competitive programmes, including medicine, nursing, pharmacy, and engineering, were filled during the first application phase due to high demand and limited university capacity. As a result, the courses are no longer available on the portal for the current revision.

Students who missed out on the competitive courses are being advised to select alternative programmes that still have available slots.
Apart from university degree programmes, applications to Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions, the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC), and Kenya Utalii College remain open on a rolling basis until all spaces are filled.
Some of the KMTC programmes still available include Diploma in Community Health, Diploma in Mortuary Science, Diploma in Public Health, Diploma in Medical Engineering, and Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences.
However, KUCCPS noted that Nursing, Clinical Medicine, and Pharmacy courses at KMTC are currently unavailable and will only reopen during the September intake.
