National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula has called on Kenyans to use the Christmas season to pause, reflect on national achievements, and prepare for the opportunities ahead in the new year.

In a statement issued on his official X account on Thursday, December 25, 2025, Wetang’ula extended warm Christmas greetings to Kenyans while encouraging them to take stock of both individual and collective progress.

“Merry Christmas, fellow Kenyans. During this wonderful season, let us take time to pause, give thanks, and appreciate the strides we have made, both as individuals and as a nation,” Wetang’ula stated.

Season of gratitude and reflection

The Speaker emphasised the festive period as an opportunity for thanksgiving and reflection, urging Kenyans to consider how they can contribute more meaningfully to national development in 2026.

“Let us also reflect on what more we can do in the coming year,” Wetang’ula stated.

In his Christmas message, the National Assembly Speaker wished Kenyans peaceful holidays filled with love and renewed energy for the year ahead.

“May your holidays be filled with peace, love, and renewed energy for the promising year ahead. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year,” he said.

Safe travels

Wetang’ula’s message echoes sentiments from other leaders as the country prepares to enter 2026.

In a statement issued the same day, retired President Uhuru Kenyatta urged Kenyans to exercise caution on roads while reflecting on shared values.

“As many travel to be with loved ones, I urge all to exercise caution on our roads. Let us be patient, obey traffic rules, and remember that no journey is worth a life. Together, let us commit to arriving safely,” he stated.

Uhuru also emphasised the importance of unity and compassion during the festive season.

“May this festive period remind us of the values that unite us: love, unity, compassion, and hope for a brighter future. Looking ahead, I wish you a prosperous New Year 2026, filled with unity, peace, and mutual respect for the good of our beloved nation,” he added.
