Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo has called on Kenyans to celebrate the Christmas season responsibly, urging vigilance on roads and in social spaces as families gather for the festivities.

In a statement issued on his official X account on Thursday, December 25, 2025, PS Omollo emphasised the importance of exercising caution while celebrating with family and friends during the festive period.

“As we gather with family, friends and loved ones, I urge all Kenyans to celebrate responsibly and with caution. Exercise care on our roads, remain vigilant in social spaces and extend kindness and patience to those around us,” Omollo stated.

Spiritual reflection

Omollo grounded his Christmas message in the spiritual significance of the season, calling on Kenyans to reflect on the values of compassion, unity and community service.

“The birth of Christ reminds us of the gift of hope and renewal His arrival brings into our lives. This season calls on us to reflect on the values of compassion, unity and service to our communities, drawing inspiration from the light that Christ’s birth ushers into the world,” he said.

PS Omollo concluded his message with prayers for peace, health and prosperity in the coming year.

“May the spirit of Christmas fill your homes with peace, and may the New Year bring renewed hope, health and prosperity to all. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2026!” he stated.

Ruto’s message

The PS’s Christmas message joins similar appeals from other government officials, including President William Ruto, all emphasising themes of responsible celebration, unity and safety during the holiday period.

In a video shared on his official social media account on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, Ruto reminded motorists to exercise caution on the roads during the holiday period.

Wakenya 2025, we clocked it. I wish you a merry Christmas and a great and blessed 2026. Na kule barabarani, let’s drive carefully, avoid unnecessary losses. Otherwise, asanteni sana, mungu awabariki nawapenda jameni,” Ruto’s festive message to Kenyans reads.
